Core Books are foundational and are generally required for play. Other Non-Core Books build up on ideas and rules that are established in the Core Books.

Core Books are always hard canon.

Free. Starlight is a free to play game. We only take donations and the like to keep the site going and expand the game setting with more products and materials.

Yes. We want you to share Starlight with your table and friends. But please remember to show them this site as well.

Canon comes in three flavors due to our development cycle and desire to push out content at a regular rate.

• Non-Canon: This will be noted, but it is content that doesn’t fit the narrative we want to tell.

• Soft Canon: Soft canon is part of the narrative, but may be incomplete or needs further refinement before becoming hard canon. Soft canon content will be noted as such.

• Hard Canon: This is complete and is part of the narrative we want to share.

When Starlight hits your table, it becomes your game and you can choose what parts you like and want to use, the canon notes are more meant for you to known what we are thinking and where we are wanting to take it.
